HILL & SMITH LTD AWARDED ISO 14001 CERTIFICATION

Hill & Smith Ltd. recognises the need to operate the business in a manner that reflects good environmental management. The company is aware of the environmental impacts of its operations and balances its business aims with the need to protect both the local community and global environment.
To aid this commitment Hill & Smith decided in April 2006 to apply to BSI for ISO14001 Environmental Management certification. Because of the commonality between our existing ISO9000 Quality Management System & ISO 14001, they have been integrated into a combined system manual which has been developed over the last 18 months by Quality Engineer - Martin Peach.
Now that Hill & Smith are registered it will ensure we are compliant to environmental legislation, improve the management of environmental risk and demonstrate conformance to environmental policy commitments & environmental improvement targets. Certification to this standard will also ensure efficient use of resources & give a competitive edge over non-certified businesses.
